In 2013, I came across a CrossFit video on the web of really fit looking people climbing ropes and dragging sleds. Soon after, I googled my nearest CrossFit box and hopped in for a workout. It was so much more than I anticipated. Coming from a background in competitive boxing, and other athletic activities, I figured that would allow me to excel beyond my peers. That was obviously not the case. There was so much more to being fit than I knew at the time and I was more than lacking. Since then, I’ve dedicated countless hours learning and working on improving myself in all forms of fitness and enjoyed the process every second of the way.

Over time, I realized there was more to CrossFit then just getting fit. The community, accountability and the knowledge, it become more than just an hour at the gym. I began to see improvements in all areas of my life from my other hobbies, work ethic, and just general well-being.

The thing I cherish most about CFNX is the people I’ve met and look forward to meeting. Whether it’s the coaches, the athletes, those new, or the veterans, we all discover something in common. To me there is no other bond like the one you develop through an event together and I get to experience that every day with my peers both as an athlete and a coach.

My goal as a coach is for everyone to walk out of my class with one small improvement. I often say, “this is the one hour of your day where you get to nothing else but focus on self-growth, let’s make it count”. Whether it be setting a PR, learning a new move/lift, picking up a minor pro tip, or even just walking out of class in a better mood than when you came in, as long as you leave with something, I’ll be happy.
